This Day in History: Holy Breakfast
This day in history:
In 1540, the Jesuit order is established.
As I am sure you know, the order was, “Bacon and eggs, over hard.”
Naturally, this set up a rivalry with the Benedictine order, who quite naturally broke their fasts on Eggs Benedict.
Peace was brokered between the two factions by the Carmelite Nuns – no one can stay angry while eating a low-calorie caramel roll first thing in the morning.
